1. OUT OF BOUNDS.

a) As defined by white stakes and beyond all boundary hedges, fences and ditches.

b) Practice ground.

c) The Clubhouse patio, flower beds and car park

d) Internal out of bounds on right of the 9th hole up to and including the second ditch.

2. WATER HAZARDS.

All ponds and ditches are water hazards (yellow stakes) with the exception of the ditches and ponds

a) on the right of the 1st & 5th,

b) on the left of the 2nd, 5th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 17th,

c) at the back of the 7th & 16th, (red stakes),

All stakes define the hazard.

3. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS.

All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition if such an obstruction on or within two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief without penalty, as follows: If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the intervening obstruction it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which

a) is not nearer the hole.

b) avoids such intervention and

c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green.

4. STONES IN BUNKERS.

May be removed (movable obstruction Rule 24-1). If the ball is moved it must be replaced without penalty.

5. NEWLY PLANTED TREES.

When supported by stakes or marked with bands are declared immovable obstructions and Rule 24­-2(b) shall apply.

6. PATHS.

If a ball comes to rest on that part of the Public Footpath which crosses a fairway (closely mown area) or any internal shingle/cockleshell path, relief may be obtained under Rule 24-2 (b).

7. OVERHEAD CABLES.

If a players ball hits overhead cables a second ball must be played, without penalty. The second ball will be the ball in play.

8. GROUND UNDER REPAIR.

Play is prohibited from all areas of ground under repair. Relief must be taken under Rule 25-1 (b).

9. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS.

All stakes defining hazards and distance are considered to be immovable obstructions and relief must be taken in accordance with 24‐2. Stakes defining out of bounds are not obstructions and must not be

removed.

 

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES MATCH PLAY - LOSS OF HOLE:

STROKE PLAY - 2 STROKES.

Players are reminded to:

1) Repair divots and pitch marks on greens.

2) Give right of way to pedestrians on public pathways.

3) Not to take practice swings on the tees or practice on the course.

4) Smooth over holes and footprints made in bunkers.

5) Call through a following match as soon as possible when it becomes apparent that a missing ball will not easily be found or if their own match has lost its place on the course (one clear hole).
